In 2022, SIR will issue ranking results for the best universities in various countries, including Indonesia. A total of 57 universities in Indonesia are included in this ranking. The assessment indicators to determine the quality of a college/university consist of 3 main aspects of assessment including research, innovation, and social impact, all of which are taken from the information provided on the website pages of each college.

According to the SIR website, the assessment is carried out every year from the results obtained over a five-year period, ending two years before the ranking edition. SIR provides overall statistics of scientific publications and other institutional output.

Each of these indicators, according to SIR, has been calculated from a combination of different indicators. Research, innovation, and social impact each have different weights in the overall assessment process, where research holds the highest percentage, namely 50 percent, the rest are innovation (30 percent) and social impact (20 percent).

Ganesha University of Education occupies rank 5 (innovation ranking) in the Indonesian Higher Education category and overall wondering at 12 Research and Innovation Ranking. Undiksha achieved 46th Overall percentile, 25th Research percentile, 78th Innovation percentile, and 90th Societal percentile. Based on these figures, Undiksha is in 12th position in Indonesia.

The following is the ranking of the top 50 universities in Indonesia included in the Research and Innovation Ranking according to the Scimago Institutions Rankings 2022.
