Faculty of Medicine Code of Ethics System Design Meeting

The Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is taking a step forward in strengthening professionalism standards in medical practice by developing a new Medical Ethics Code System. Discussions involving doctors from the Undiksha Faculty of Medicine and UPA ICT division heads took place to design system flow and collect data/documents supporting a more effective system design, (Tuesday, June 22, 2023).

The Medical Code of Ethics System that is being developed by Undiksha aims to provide clear guidelines for doctors in carrying out their duties and responsibilities towards patients, colleagues, and the general public. In these discussions, the main focus was to design a structured system flow, involving reporting procedures, investigations, and resolution of problems related to ethical violations.

In addition, the discussion also discussed the data and supporting documents that will be used in this system. Doctor and patient identities, medical history, and evidence of ethical violations will be an important part of developing this system. This aims to ensure that the system can efficiently manage relevant information in cases of ethical violations.

In the discussion, the Undiksha Faculty of Medicine also paid attention to the availability of the necessary resources, including information technology, network infrastructure, database systems, and the team responsible for system maintenance. This will ensure the smooth implementation and maintenance of the new Medical Ethics Code system.

In addition, it is also important to emphasize privacy and data security policies. These systems should be designed with appropriate security measures, such as data encryption, user authentication, and audit trails, to protect sensitive patient data and information related to ethical violations from unauthorized access or misuse.

By developing a new Medical Code of Ethics system, Undiksha confirms its commitment to increasing the standard of professionalism in medical practice. This step will provide clear guidance for doctors in carrying out their duties with high ethics, maintaining integrity, and providing quality services to society.
