Yogyakarta- The Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) conducted a comparative study activity at State University of Yogyakarta (UNY) on October 10-13, 2024. The objective of this visit was to learn best practices in managing information systems and information technology applied at UNY to improve both academic and non-academic services within the Undiksha environment.
The comparative study, involving several UPA TIK staff members, focused on campus information system management, Information Technology services, and management content. At UNY, the UPA TIK Undiksha team was warmly welcomed by the leadership and TIK UNY team, who shared their experiences and innovations in developing IT infrastructure and digital transformation in a university setting.
UPA TIK Undiksha Secretary, Ida Komang Widhiarjaya, S.T., emphasized that this comparative study is a strategic step to enhance technology-based services at Undiksha. “We hope to implement several innovations we observed at UNY, particularly in more efficient and effective information system management, to support academic activities and campus administration, as well as to prepare for our transition to PTN BH,” Widhiarjaya stated.
During the visit, the UPA TIK Undiksha team discussed challenges and solutions in managing complex data within higher education institutions. The discussion provided valuable insight on optimizing information technology to support campus operations.
Additionally, this visit opened opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Undiksha and UNY in the field of information and communication technology. “We will continue to build collaborations between universities to enhance IT capabilities and improve services for the academic community,” Widhiarjaya added.
This comparative study is expected to positively impact the quality of IT service at Undiksha, aligning with the university’s vision to become an Excellent University based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045.
