Singaraja, November 19, 2024 – Mulawarman University conducted a visit to the Academic Support Unit and Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). The visit aimed to gain insight into the organizational transformation from a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) to Academic Support Unit (UPA) and explore information technology management strategies at Undiksha.
During the meeting, I Ketut Resika Arthana, S.T., M.Kom., Head of UPA TIK at Undiksha delivered a detailed presentation on the organizational transition process, highlighting the challenges faced and strategic steps taken to support technology-based academic services.
Additionally, Nyoman Laba Jayanta, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Informatics System Division, elaborated on human resource management (HR), development schemes, and the informatics system management applied at Undiksha. The Head of Network Division, Gede Arna Jude Saskara, S.T., M.T., provided an overview about network infrastructure and server management, which form the backbone of information technology operations at Undiksha.
A key highlight of the visit was the presentation by the Data Center Division Staff on the implementation of the Single Sign-On (SSO) system at Undiksha. The SSO System integrates various digital services under a single authentication framework, designed to enhance user efficiency and accessibility. The system’s applications and benefits were shared to provide Mulawarman University with a model that could be adapted to their institution.
This visit served as a productive and collaborative moment for both institutions fostering the exchange of experiences and knowledge to support the development of technology-based academic services. The discussions aim to strengthen inter-university collaboration and accelerate the implementation of advanced information technology systems in higher education.
