Singaraja – The Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) hosted a delegation from Bengkulu University, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The visit aimed to explore various aspects of management and development initiatives undertaken by UPA TIK, particularly focusing on its transformation from a Technical Support Unit (UPT) to an Academic Support Unit (Unit).

One of the key topics discussed was the bandwidth management mechanism implemented at Undiksha. The UPA TIK team shared their strategies for bandwidth optimization, which ensure a stable and high-speed internet connection to support academic, research, and administrative activities across the university.

Another focal point of the discussion was the management of human resources (HR) within UPA TIK. This included aspects such as training programs, skill development initiatives, and the management of competent IT professionals. Bengkulu University expressed particular interest in this area as a reference for developing their internal HR structures.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the development of the Single Sign-On (SSO) system. Undiksha shared their experiences and technical insights into the implementation of the SSO system, which enables users to access various campus services using a single, integrated account. Bengkulu University expressed appreciation for this knowledge as they plan to adopt a similar system to enhance efficiency and streamline access within their campus environment.
