UPA TIK Undiksha Holds Weekly Meeting: System Evaluation and Strengthening IT Infrastructure

Singaraja, February 24, 2025 – The Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit (UPA TIK) of Ganesha University of Education once again held its weekly meeting in the Basic Lab Room of UPA TIK. The meeting was attended by the entire team, including the Data Center Team, Network Team, Content Management Team, and Helpdesk Team. The main agenda of this session focused on system evaluation, operational efficiency, and strengthening IT infrastructure within Undiksha.

In the initial discussion session, the meeting emphasized the importance of efficient facility usage. Each team was instructed to inspect and ensure the condition of equipment in their respective workspaces, particularly regarding electricity usage, air conditioning, and other supporting facilities. To optimize laboratory management, it was agreed that the use of laboratories for lecturers outside working hours would no longer be facilitated. Additionally, a laboratory inspection duty schedule will soon be established to ensure that facilities remain in optimal conduction.

Beyond efficiency improvements, the meeting also highlighted updates of information system management, particularly regarding the 2025 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), which is set to be announced soon. To ensure a smooth process, strategic measures were taken, including password updates across all applications and security testing of the new student selection system. These steps aim to protect data integrity and ensure system security against potential cyber threats.

In the network infrastructure sector, progress on the installation of fiber optic (FO) cables was one of the key topics. Currently, the installation is complete, with only the pressing stage remaining, which is expected to be finalized on the same day. Once fully operational, the FO installation is anticipated to enhance campus internet stability, supporting various academic and administrative activities.

Moreover, UPA TIK is also developing new policies regarding the loaning of rooms and laboratories for lecturers. This policy aims to ensure more structured and needs-based space utilization. In line with its commitment to enhancing digital skills, UPA TIK plans to host several IT training programs, covering areas such as mobile application development, front-end development, web development, and graphic design using Canva. These initiatives are expected to enrich the technical skills of both students and educators, preparing them for the ever-evolving technological landscape.

Overall, this weekly meeting serves as a concrete demonstration of UPA TIK’s commitment to improving IT services at Undiksha. Through system evaluations, operational efficiency enhancements, and strengthened security measures, UPA TIK continues to provide the best technological support for the entire academic community. Moving forward, the unit will persist in innovating and optimizing IT services, ensuring that Undiksha’s technology infrastructure remains effective, efficient, and secure in supporting both academic and administrative activities.
